General Discussion / Re: Let's try to get @bitshares on twitter

Next thing we know , people would start buying subway AD space on major city upfront and ask to be refunded by worker dilution , because people would by shy to vocal against it for all his contribution and the financial risk he was taken upfront .

That will be an amazing marketing change .

@tonyk   what do you say

The network owning it's own naming assets is really so terrible? This i fundamental to any business DAC or centralized.

On the other hand.. there are other ways to recover the funds, it just might take a lot more work and time potentially... if he used the refer program and got paid on the refers sent to the network, i would take roughly referring 33 lifetime members to recover the funds. Who knows, at that point maybe he will just continue with it because its a good investment.

There are a few ways to skin this cat, but the worker is clear, simple, and lets the voters decide how they want to manage the brand. Trolling commentaries with anything to do with Workers these days seems inevitable. It's tired, old, and has been shown to be a pointless irrational argument in comparison to every other virtual currency that is excelling in market cap with higher spending that for them is completely out of control. While we are in control.

@JonnyBitcoin initiative to take action and secure our brand for the community is great. You think all your scenarios are going to come to pass then you better get to it and start getting all those spaces. Sounds like a great investment!

It's funny .

If a Ethereum marketing is paying 3000 USD to buy a twitter account name , which one you think he would buy , and why ?

The exact same name is not the asset on twitter . The count of the follower is .
If one account has more follower than the others , regardless of what name it is , it will be enough to do marketing .

It is funny.

Care to share how much they are spending on all the other marketing and mining while you are at it? Lets compare apples to apples.

This is after all just more dilution boogieman rhetoric.

How is side chain different from ripple's interledger?

There are variations in the very definition of sidechains. How one operates from another can be quite different and can have variations in how efficient and secure they operate. I would argue that what we are starting to develop will enhance ripples interledger.

I am on tv, radio, newspapers all the time because of what I call the 'bunker bump'.

If/when OpenPOS is ready be sure to turn it into an interesting news story
that makes way more noise than just a forum post here. Come up with some interesting story that incorporates the tech.

Good call!  +5%

Can you share with us some of the things you have done on tv, radio, newspaper and other possible media?

I don't understand the question in relation to 'some of the things you have done on'. Anybody who googles me can see I have been all over tv radio and newspapers because of what I described above.

In several radio interviews I have talked about Bitshares because I was sought out as an expert in the space of online transaction.. but again, the 'bunker bump' as I put it, gives them something interesting to share with their listeners and that helps give them a show/story that doesn't just sound like another blah blah blah day of news.

Media people are hungry for unique stories and content that is going to get them eyeballs clicks and likes. So my recommendation was to be sure to give it it to them so that your story comes across as a POP not just to them, but to their listeners, instead of a fizzle that is space filler that their listeners/watchers quickly gloss over.

One other thing, you don't (at least I think so) use media people to do 'coming soon' announcements... because soon as you don't deliver on that.. it's a great way to burn your bridges with them OR their readership ie. they stop paying attention to anything about you. Their readership/viewers are their bread and butter, and yours if you are continuously feeding the same channel stories, you have to respect that. When you do a story, just be sure you have delivered on what you are talking about. For example, I didn't go on the Daily Decrypt yesterday and talk about what we are going to do with Blockchain Bunker, I told them what has been done, and we had the website ready for the announcement. Yes, there are some cases where the story projects into the future, but in regards to OpenPOS, and this is just my view, it's better to talk about what has been done then what you are going to do at this stage. Development of applications, especially ones that are new, are always fraught with twists that throw off whatever you project. How often did we hear this from Hangouts with BM regarding Stealth? Often enough.

Anyways.. just my 2bts on handling media in my experience.

Giddy up!  +5%

Just so you know.. I didn't contact The Daily Decypt.. they contacted me. If you want to be interviewed then make it something really newsworthy and interesting. I am on tv, radio, newspapers all the time because of what I call the 'bunker bump'.

If/when OpenPOS is ready be sure to turn it into an interesting news story that makes way more noise than just a forum post here. Come up with some interesting story that incorporates the tech.

Just my two cents anyways... hope it helps.

Proud to Present

We believe every blockchain deserves a secure, reliable, decentralized exchange that  everyone can use to access their virtual currencies and trade with others without any counterparty risk. Our mission is to bring together all those who understand the value of sidechains and the potential benefits they can bring to their blockchains. We recognize that sidechains can improve virtual currency security, give them a platform for trading that can never ‘get goxed’, and will ensure that naming space cannot be taken away by 3rd parties. We are developing the protocol standards to ensure that all blockchains can easily implement sidechains and gain access to the Bitshares trading platform.

We will soon be introducing a forum as well as a project reporting area to enable community members both here at Bitshares and other blockchains to collaborate in bringing better security to blockchains around the world.

You can watch our debut interview on The Daily Decrypt:

March 24 2016 Update
We now introduce...

This forum is dedicated to the discussion of sidechain technology that will connect with the Bitshares DEX and provide seamless trading to all blockchains and centralized exchanges.

This forum is meant for all communities to contribute and join in on raising up all crypto currencies with more speed and security without needing to make any modifications to their own blockchains.

For everyone who wants to see Sidechains with Bitshares, join us in the discussion.

Those involved will be first to know about when new chains are being added, when new breakthroughs are ready for market, and how they can better position themselves in this new blockchain paradigm.

At present we are putting together a brief on Sidechains and how Bitshares can help provide value with them.

Once we have completed it we will be sharing it via social media and reaching out to other communities.

Join us in welcoming them all to the evolution of virtual currency.

If you are interested in becoming a moderator just let us know.

Go to forum.blockchainbunker.com  and create an account or login with facebook, github, or twitter.

Technical Support / Re: Why annual memberships are going away
« on: March 16, 2016, 04:07:57 am »

 +5%

Out of all the membership levels annual only accounted for 0.4%.

If any kind of other levels are to be introduced they cannot be based on the same premise as the original membership was designed for, which was based on fee structures primarily.

General Discussion / Re: Why are we deprecating Annual Membership?
« on: March 16, 2016, 03:37:12 am »
Per mumble at 3:41 : https://soundcloud.com/beyond-bitcoin-hangouts

Why?  I think annual membership is important.

Shouldn't there be a process for making a change to this feature?

Fun fact.. out of 5776 membership accounts as of last week, 27 were annual memberships.

This means that annual memberships held exactly 0.4% 'importance' to the memberships options.

The cost to fix the issues surrounding  the annual memberships were not justifiable.. nor does the demand deem it a reasonable decision to pursue it... thus the depreciation.

It's good news really.. simplifies things.

DAC PLAY / Re: We got scammed?
« on: March 15, 2016, 01:08:33 pm »
somebody erased my answer to you  >:(

PS that happened a couple of times the last months (never thought I get censored from bitsharestalk moderators!)

I saw your reply in the other message.. but its got me so confused.. What does dacplay have to do with cyber.fund?  I looked at it and there is no association.. they don't even appear in their team.

Since the moderators of this space are dacplay team I am guessing they were the ones that deleted it.. perhaps they didn't want people knowing they were involved? Yet, I don't even understand how they are. :)

Help me connect the dots.

Regarding their reply... it is the exact same reply they gave two weeks ago.. literally just a cut and paste of it: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,21583.msg282982.html#msg282982

Soon there will be an update with dice game base on javascript & google V8 engine.

General Discussion / Re: Concerned about lack of marketing/visibility
« on: March 15, 2016, 12:00:44 pm »
Agreed  +5% to most.. I don't agree about documentation being scattered... you can find everything at docs.bitshares.eu .. and if something is missing it doesn't take long before xeroc added it when he sees a need.

This boils down to a marketing campaign you are describing and getting a message across.

If you like to see more youtube videos.. I know that Ronny is working on some for openledger as tutorials. That should help.

We got slack.. which is getting a handful of users daily that I am personally welcoming.. we got Telegram too.. IRC would be ok I guess.. I bet we probably have one and don't even know it. :)

Infographics I agree are out of date.. we need someone who is willing to produce and keep them fresh.. in the past we paid 3rd parties that came and went after they got paid. Updating them today means starting over.. I know people are going to jump in and say 'worker proposal' but that would just be dumb. Not because it shouldn't be done through that, but because it is just a small piece of an overall strategy that should be executed to be effective.. and you are not going to have that happen with multiple workers that have no cohesive operation.

Twitter and other social media I agree are weak points here. This is due to the fragmentation of efforts going on with multiple parties and no cohesive operation/plans.

I will reply to this thread later this week with some solutions.

WTF - Worldwide Trading is Fun (BTD - Better Than Doge)

I thought:

What The Fuck?

Haha... well.. we would totally dominate the crypto meme space with that one! :D .. not in a good way though.

We could have the gamer convention right here too! :)

Fallout tournament in a nuclear bunker would be pretty epic.

An op-ed written a few days ago about a cosmic threat to Bitcoin prompted me to have to respond to the fact that we as a WItness in the Bitshares blockchain are protected against the threat that Bitcoin and every other alt coin is not.

Remember to vote for witness "DataSecurityNode" to keep the blockchain protected!

OP-er. Wrong!

This is a view that somehow the dex is not the real world, not the real market. And it is a real market like all other markets. It might be small now but it does not have to be, it can be as big or bigger than any exchange. This believe is similar to the believe that New York SE needs other exchanges so its trade or prices are legit and real...

Additionally  the on-dex price "feeds" provide much better solution than the current system in all respects, including to the somewhat funny current forced liquidation rules.
