Thanks!

General Discussion / Re: Forking
« on: February 20, 2014, 06:03:03 pm »
I think its perfectly ok to fork any idea NXT, Euthereum or any else.

Now someone would argue that idea has been stolen but this simply wound not be true. The idea would be stolen if it is physical property and taking it from someone would mean the owner wouldn’t be able to use it which is obviously not the case.

If Bitshare becomes widespread be sure that many will fork it. Like Ltc forked Btc, Pts forked Btc and etc..

General Discussion / Re: Let's discuss reputation schemes.
« on: February 11, 2014, 11:49:20 pm »
There is one book that could help resolve some reputation/trust issues. It is Steven Coveys -The Speed Of Trust.

http://www.myspeedoftrust.com/How-The-Speed-of-Trust-works/book

There he has established trust matrix with four trust zones. One of them is of something called Smart Trust. He says that the lowest risk and highest return occur in Smart Trust Zone 2 (judgment), where risk is wisely moderated and managed and you can carefully evaluate and consider issues.

So trust is basically about risk management. So how about it?

To be more specific, take a look at Colored Coin smart property or Bitcoin payment protocol.
First is providing ownership transfer of an asset the other value transfer in a way that manages most of potential fraud risks.

So the question is not why do I have to trust you but could it be done in trustless way.

I am not discouraged, i am insulted. You simply repackaged the document, you have not done anything more than 10% of the job, yet you set about writing such insulting documents. And to further the insult you then state you wish to pay 20% for all the work you copied and re-packaged? as if that is not enough you then go on to "praise" my work in other bounties. I work with dual purpose and in good faith, that however is always dependent on how i see you guys operating. This is no good , i'll encourage you to re-visit your position.

If anything other bounty hunters will see that you cannot be trusted to work in good faith, and that will spread to the community. Do not abuse the way the rules are structured, it will be fatal to how bounties are done and it would be a huge blow to the trust factor.

There is no need for hard filings.

The Customer has decided and it is final. Now what to do? You even doesn’t have Mediation panel.
The Bounty Manager and Bounty Prospector was one and Bounty Hunter has no competitior so it didnt need to be batter then it was. So what to do about it?

I think this is valiable expiriance. Now we have opportunity to learn from our mistakes.

This is why this is the single most important documents for the whole community. It is like constitution for the state. If you fail in it you will have future long standing consecquences, which could geopardise the whole community.

Personaly I don’t like the document because of its obvious lacks of mechanisms for achving stated goals. It is more like list of wishes. It even lacks procedures for its change/improvement. This is biggest lack since noone could expect get perfect work at once. But I may be wrong.

So it would be fair to give it chance to prove it self. Lets see how it will serve its purpose. I suggest we use this tread, or open another, to follow its future implementation.

I am sorry if I have join late. All design elements are there and it need some final adjustments.
Here is my suggestions, if you don’t mind.
-   Related to color, you have picked dark blue, shades of blue and white color. It is balanced well. Some of the color connotations of blue are loyalty, security, conservatism, tranquility, coldness, sadness. Indeed it look to me little cold and boring. What do you think of third color. It could be discrete add. Few details nothing much if you prefer that way. It should be some light color picked carefully depending on feel you are trying to provoke.(light green, orange, light brown, yellow) Try experimenting a bit. In that way you could distract those cold feelings. If not, maybe could try with purple instead of blue which provokes  creativity, mystery, royalty, mysticism, rarity.
-   Related to fonts I see to many different fonts or its variations or too many different sizes. Either way it looks messy even you have done good color balance. Try to simplify it. You have chosen Sans fonts because of logo font I suppose. It not convinced me that these two fonts are balanced or united. If I were you I would try to add more prestige and royalty. So I would suggest Sans Serif fonts. In that way you could add contrast too and emphasize logo name. Either way I suggest you pick another uniting factor.
-   Other impressions are that it is well organized and one general suggestion that you try to rid of every design element that is not needed (like that big shade wheel representing Shares I suppose) that way it would look more simple and clean .

I hope it could help.

Another attempt to work this out logically...

What gives BitUSD a specific value in USD?

BitUSD is a contract with a fixed USD value backed by a promise to pay that corresponding USD value in BitShares.  The Bitshares network then provides a mechanism to ensure that all BitUSD is fully collateralized or that promise to pay is exercised. This leads to the next question, what gives a BitShare a specific USD value?

Bitshares themselves can be traded on a cryptocurrency exchange for USD in the same way Bitcoin is bought and sold for USD on Bitstamp or Mt. Gox.  Bitshares have value because, like Bitcoin, they facilitate participation in the BitShares network while also providing equity in the network.

+1

I think this is simplest explanation so far.

173
Let me see is this fits:

BitShares X is table where are placed bets for future Bts and Usd price ratio. The averidge of those bets are considered Bitusd. Bts are also means for chips in that game.

174
Geneko, your statement "They are peace of bet from every market move." does not describe how the peg works and 'they' is ambiguous in your statement.

Ok I all try with something more accurate. How about:

They are insurance policies against future Bitusd and Usd price difference.

175
They are peace of bet from every market move.

I like this.

BitShares provide a decentralized price feed. The only common point people all across the network have is that the "BitUSD" asset has the words "USD" in it. If someone wants to "attack" this price feed and cause it to deviate from real USD/BTS, and they don't have a large majority of BTS, the opposing market forces from the rest of the network are enough to push the price down and take money from the attacker, because everyone else has the choice of either "cooperate towards USD and make money if other do too" or "defect and hope to make money if enough people coincidentally defect in the same direction as you".

Toast gets a 1 PTS tip... this is an accurate description though it is can certainly be improved upon...  note this bounty pays for multiple answers...

Congratulations Toast, only I thought it was mine description  :D

Ok, there it seams much inconsistency and misunderstanding in terms we use. We should take care of it first.
I am not  a bot that could easily distinguish difference between "BitShares" and "Bitshare".

So what represents Bishares X? Market for BitUsd and usd currency futures, right? What is Bts roll in that market?

how BitUSD beg to USD?imagine BitUSD is the USD currency futures.

Ok , I have imagined. How it goes further? What is Bitshare roll?
Bitshares likes the currency futures exchange, the currency futures will eventually beg to the real currency through market activities .

You didnt explained mechanism how it works ;) This is still fogy. I didn't understood this "Bitshares likes the currency futures exchange"
You mean they are like currency future exchanges? Bitshare is not exchange , rather it is backing asset for future contract.

So far I see good marketing slogans for BitShares X but not any analogies that explain the BitUSD to USD peg....

I think nobody knows exactly how it works but ashamed to admit. Maybe some plain language explanation would help or link from where to learn about.
