General Discussion / Re: Staff Meeting Notes - Until Further Notice

Stan is #1 on CryptoComedyMarketCap.

I think your best bet might be to wait for the Ethereum launch. BitShares is nowhere near their original promise of providing a DAC toolkit for everyone.

Until we see a design doc, source code, this is just a pipe-dream.

I'm way from an expert in this area, but for my learning, how can the Qora AT be sure that Alice has sent a valid key for Bob's Burst transaction, when it transfers the Qora to Alice and only then reveals the key to Bob. Can Bob's key fail? It must know this, I'm just not sure how.

What does the BitShares development team think of this news and what are the implications for Bitshares?

The implications are that you could built a decentralized exchange this way. So by the time Bitcoin comes up with side chains - they will be obsolete.

UPDATE:  For BitShares implications - it should implement it, but seeing the progress so far, I doubt it would happen anytime soon.

EDIT: As in pay for their registration.

Soooo freakin' awesome!!

An Atomic Cross-Chain Transfer between Burst and Qora has been occurred successfully

This is incredible. I'm stoked! :)

General Discussion / LOL I figured out why BTS is not taking off...

This is purely facetious post, please don't take it seriously. :)

According to those clowns (moneymappress) the USD is about to collapse. If the USD collapses so will the BitUSD. And therefore there is no interest in BitUSD.

Now, I think these guys are always targeting paranoid preppers, so please don't give them money and buy into their spam, but some of the charts in the video are indeed interesting.

General Discussion / Re: BitShares Timeline?
« on: May 06, 2015, 07:03:53 am »
The timeline:

1) Dont release a stable client.
2) Change something instead of releasing stable client.
3) Watch price decline.
4) Have stan come out with a pump post that gives no details at all.
5) Have bytemaster wink.

6) Repeat.

Cute. That said, there is a plan, the problem is that it's too big. But you have to think big. I'm still a believer.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Paid Workers Proposal for Review
« on: May 04, 2015, 05:59:34 am »
This is what I've been preaching for since day one of BitShares. I am absolutely excited about the new direction and all of you should be too!!!

Thank you, BM for making the right calls in these difficult testing times. Some may not feel the same, but I believe this is a major step in the right direction.

I hope this gets voted in.

When bts is fully mature its valuation will also be based on the fees it generates.

I think it just needs heavy marketing / integration. The point I was trying to make is that no matter how good BTS is, if there is no demand for BitUSD, it won't take off.

General Discussion / Re: How to regain confidence?

hahahaha.good find.
"bitshares is good.merge is good.and i will sell to you.."-bitmeat

I got out at 2500 and 4000 too not just 8000, and mostly because I wanted to get into things like Ethereum, StorJ, etc. Recently I got in at 4000 and 3000, I'm a small fish compared to the volume you see, at this point I'd rather let it die than sell. But whatever.

Like I said take out the speculation, once BTS is an entirely mature product, it's main utilization would be around providing collateral. From that perspective I think 3x the market cap of all BitAssets is fair.

It is ludicrous to think of this valuation before it's mature. So apologies if I gave the impression of a real value.

I meant we need more BitAssets demand that will drive price up.
