Added the "Open Orders" panel at the bottom (Inspired by Poloniex)

Consider including a new tab or collapsible section for the average joe to purchase. I agree with others that metaexchange do it well.

Ok, guys, i've spent my entire day visualizing and painting how the "Graphene Exchange" should look like.

Here's my mockup:

1 - The "MARKETS" sidebar was taken from the now defunct Mintpal and redesigned for this theme
2 - The Chart was taken from TradingView and adapted for Graphene
3 - The "CHAT BOX" was copied from Poloniex. I have another version with the white TROLLBOX
4 - The "LAST TRADES" panel was taken from Bitstamp.

Regarding this design, there still more polishing to do, but i will deal with that later. (volume/lowest/highest/last price, open orders)

My idea now is to create a new thread called "Graphene - The battle of the mockups" or something along the line where everyone posts his designs. Something less focused on analysis and more on the visual aspect. This thread for analysis, the other one for mockups.

Wow, this design looks incredible!

Looks great  +5%

If you have space add the missing title headings for: Trade History, Buy Order, Sell Order and My Open Orders (Like you have it for Markets and ChatBox)

We will be migrating BitShares GUI to copy as closely as possible the best interface out there.   We will also be copying the best fee system and best market rules.

The worker proposal that Cryptonomics are writing should be very specific regarding will be delivered. Personally, i would like to the see some discussion and a poll or two to determine the specifics. The reason being, the best GUI is very subjective and so we know whichever we choose some will love it others will hate it. However, a consensus can be achieved with some discussion and some votes.

The other point is that I want it to be specific about what you will deliver. We hear this perception that the GUIis not user friendly (similar thing with 1.0).  Its been less than a month since 2.0 and so i feel we have to get this right- in terms of design, in terms of quality of build etc.

In short, i think its the right thing to do but we have to get it working 100%, not close to. We have a kick-ass backend and i really want us to get the same for the front end. If that means bringing in some outside help, so be it. It doesn't matter. The important thing is it works on a PC,MAC, iphone, IPAD etc with all the features people are asking for.

My 2 bts.

A "Best Exchange Poll" already effectively exists and it constantly updated: just look at volume.  People trade at their preferred exchange and "vote" with their dollars and satoshis.

That is really a good (maybe optimal) metric!

PS metatrader4 is sure on top of the list...
I would say the best combination is metatrader4  + polo-like web gui

Hi, this is my first post though I've been following bitshares for a while now. It would be ideal to have a great decentralized exchange for decentralized currencies(and more, of course).

Here is an informative link to bitcoin trading volume I recently saw. You can change the currency to reflect the market you want to see. It looks like Bitfinex is most popular in USD, OKcoin for CNY, and Kraken for EUR and there's more though I'm not sure why Polo isn't included.. maybe this is more for bitcoin rather than alts, though I think for ease of use Polo and Finex are similar. Here's USD trading volume:

http://data.bitcoinity.org/markets/volume/30d/USD?c=e&t=a

The average US crypto twitter trader, at least, seems to like Finex for very seamless and easy margin trading as bull/bear(long/short) are just two sides of the same coin, so to speak, and naturally go together. Also, OKcoin seems popular for more serious traders because it has Futures. Bitcoinwisdom is excellent for crypto charts/tools, and Tradingview for trading charts in general, not just crypto. Coinigy also seems to be great for cross-exchange trading as Chris4210X describes, though it's newer. Access to tools(metatrader4, protrader) for pro-traders seems like a great idea as well.

I also like puppies' and tbone's ideas as well as the app and trollbox suggestion to help grow the community. I found a Finex app for iPhone the other day but didn't download it because I'd prefer if it were made by the exchange creators..

This is great initiative. I think we can take already existing HTML5 codes from https://www.tradingview.com/features/ already and feed the charts with BitShares DEX data.

https://www.coinigy.com/ is a good example of an multi exchange interface for Bitcoins. You might noticed that they use tradingview.com charts.  They integrate all big BTC Exchanges in one interface and allow you to trade and monitor your balances. They are also developing arbitrage bots and a simultaneously trading bot for different exchanges. Than means you can buy and Sell BTC at the same time with one simple click on two different exchanges. This makes arbitrage trading very easy.

A Chatbox / Trollbox is mandatory to bring in people and to keep them in a trading community.

http://protrader.com/platform/desktop offers additional features and designs.

I think at the end we just need a simple interface to attract the first group of traders. Polo´s interface would be a good start. However i think it would be more important to offer a simple API connection so that other platforms like MT4, Protrader.com, coinigy.com, etc can link and tap into our markets easier. Let the trader decide which interface they want to use for their trading.

Yep... watch bitshares explode if we do this.  It doesn't seem like a long term project either.  It's amazing how this topic really took off in the last 3 days, and we are starting to realize very specific goals that need to be achieved instead of just floating around from one topic to the next.

If we can find a few liquidity providers (forward thinking banks) to go along with these new interfaces... start looking for your favorite island to buy.
