@Xeldal

Haha! i like them. The only problem is that Yunbi displays the data in the pop-ups in a horrible format. They should cut the "Open""Close""High""Low""Volume" (and the random MACD/HIST garbage below completely) and just replace with "O, C, H, L, V" and display the list vertically. This way the pop-up should be small enough to fit right above or below the line.

For example:

From this:     To this:

It is now less intrusive as it does not cover entire candles and it doesn't force you to look on the left. But anyways, i can get your point :)

they should just add a customize function, so if anyone thinks black is not black enough they can set it manually

@clayop Yes, tradeblock's chart looks good and i like that it offers advanced tools for trading. It's snappy too.

The one thing that i dislike about most of the charts, though, is that the info for each candle is located somewhere at the top, taking your attention away and confusing you. When it was first released, Coinigy used a very fluid chart that also provided panels with info above each candle at hovering. Unfortunately, they've replaced it.

Personally I can't stand those pop-ups, they are always blocking the chart, always in the way.  I much prefer having the candle info out of the way at the top.  IMO nothing should ever block the view of the chart.

Yunbi charts are a good example of how to drive me absolutely bonkers.  The popups render the chart mostly unusable.

@ValentinJesse Here's another example: https://tradeblock.com/markets/bfnx/xbt-usd/2h/

I prefer hollow candle when the background is dark, as like Coinbase. What do you think?

Thanks for the feedback, guys. With this mockup i just wanted to show the developers of Graphene that you don't need to reinvent the wheel. This exchange that i visualized was inspired by the now defunct Mintpal, Bitstamp, TradingView, Poloniex and OpenLedger. There are plenty of exchanges from which you can take different elements and combine them. Other notable examples are: CEX.io (looks great almost everywhere), Kraken (i like the depth chart), Bittrex (I like that the landing page contains vital information), Coinbase https://exchange.coinbase.com/trade?product_id=BTC-USD& etc.

I see that some are asking for tabs, day mode and other implementations. Unfortunately, my current job is pretty demanding so i had to make this as fast as i could. I did this by modifying the websites via chrome's console + screenshots + photoshop, so there's not plenty of room for manipulation. I need a lot of time. Will see what i can do about it.

Anyways, i will keep on offering my ideas to the bitshares community and see if they will stick  :). Until now i was more active in the "Bitshares" telegram group chat because of the faster pace, but i'm planning on providing info on the forum too.

@clayop, @cass  - Heh, the reason why i chose this theme was because i always disliked the common black one. I am getting tired pretty fast on a black theme as it does nothing but to exaggerate the white/green/red text and sting my eyes in a longer session. I will try to make one, though.

How long would the above take to create?  Hopefully it could be done simultaneously with improving the api for 3rd party platforms. Could someone like val and svk work on this, while bm and theoretical work on api stuff or does everyone need to focus on the same thing?

Ok, guys, i've spent my entire day visualizing and painting how the "Graphene Exchange" should look like.

Here's my mockup:

1 - The "MARKETS" sidebar was taken from the now defunct Mintpal and redesigned for this theme
2 - The Chart was taken from TradingView and adapted for Graphene
3 - The "CHAT BOX" was copied from Poloniex. I have another version with the white TROLLBOX
4 - The "LAST TRADES" panel was taken from Bitstamp.

Regarding this design, there still more polishing to do, but i will deal with that later. (volume/lowest/highest/last price, open orders)

My idea now is to create a new thread called "Graphene - The battle of the mockups" or something along the line where everyone posts his designs. Something less focused on analysis and more on the visual aspect. This thread for analysis, the other one for mockups.

Wow, this design looks incredible!

We need this asapasap.

@ValentinJesse
A Korean community member points out that the background is too bright (also the current wallet is also slightly light @cass ).
Can you research the standard (e.g. a black color used in forex program) and applied it to our wallet?

I like it a lot.  I'd like to see volume in the markets tab.  Move the buy and sell order books closer together, and a 24 hour change % and high low towards the top of the chart.

Add a day time mode and we have a winner.

In regards to the trollbox.  Our issue has been having a secure means of accomplishing it.  we don't want to allow third party code into the wallet that could steal your private keys.  There were some really good ideas about using on blockchain messaging.  The issue was what fee do you charge to prevent spam.  With BM talking about reducing fees and using rate limiting, couldn't we do something like that for the trollbox?  I see three things needed to win the decentralized trollbox awards.

1) rate limiting per account.  Perhaps 1 message per minute for standard accounts and 1 message every 20 seconds for lifetime members.

2) Automatic pruning of all message portions of the blockchain after a short amount of time.  We don't need a permanent record of who said what when.  We should be able to safely delete all trollbox chatter from blocks over a certain age.

3) Ignore feature to turn off those annoying bastards that do stupid things like set up a bot to message the same thing every minute.  Make ignoring easy, and allow everyone to be their own mod.

Could that work?
