OPENPOS has been hugely successful! We managed to create 5 different products so far!

Smartcoins POS has been renamed to BlockPOS and that thread can be found here:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,22576.0/all.html

..and on Steemit.com:
https://steemit.com/crypto-news/@kenCode/ann-blockpos--the-app-that-allows-any-business-to-accept-any-crypto-currency-at-zero

Please consider the OPENPOS token (just PM @Chris4210 for details) so that you can share in the rewards now that Chris and Rodrigo are about to kick off our Marketing. Don't miss out!

As per my mountain of comments above, I now see I am not the only one having a hard time trying to get into the apple app store...

How would it actually differ from the current app? and will it be open source like the current wallet?
Thanks again!

Open Source == Always :)

The new mobile wallet is so fast because I used android-native for this one instead of running apache cordova and shittons of overhead (although now there is a wallet on my github (/kenCode-de) that anyone can fork and brand, etc).
The new mobile wallet will not have a Finder or Exchange screens, nobody seemed to care about those features, so I moved that capital into this new wallet instead.
The new mobile wallet will have these features:

Great job once again Ken!

btw, whats the status on the "lightning fast" v 1.0 native android wallet?

Thanx maemon :)
I'm hoping to have the first alpha apk ready for testing ~June 1st. I probably won't give that apk to anyone here in the community though for a couple weeks after, once I feel comfortable enough to slap a beta1 onto it. We are already running the first test transactions through it now..

BitShares Wallet users, please backup your Brainkey now, and also a .bin file.
Remove the mobile wallet completely (we upgraded a lot of the files and db).

THEN, feel free to download the latest version (v1.0.5):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.bitsharesmunich.wallet

WHAT'S NEW
Improved QR code reading, added Overdraft Protection (select a backup asset in Settings menu), added Rewards Card (loyalty points) feature, improved callbacks with Smartcoins POS systems (so the cashier does not sit there giving you a dirty look while waiting for your payment), small UI updates.

I hope you like it! :)

edit: PLEASE UPVOTE!

We will be competing for the Blockchain Innovation Award (a 5min pitch of our ECHO projects) and will be back here in Munich by tuesday night (most likely).

From the GTEC.Berlin website:
€50,000 in prizes to be awarded to 12 shortlisted blockchain startups selected from over 100 applications from every corner of the globe.

We are delighted to invite you to the GTEC Blockchain Innovation Award Ceremony on Tuesday 17th May, held in the Auditorium Maximum at ESMT Berlin (Schlossplatz 1, 10178 Berlin) from 16:00 – 20:00.

The first of its kind, the Blockchain Innovation Award is supported by GTEC founding partners RWE and Globumbus and will present a total of €50,000 (€20,000 Gold; €15,000 Silver; €10,000 Bronze, plus a €5,000 Community Prize) to startups and founders working on the best innovation using blockchain technology.

The contest has attracted more than 100 impressive applications from across the globe, including startups from Ghana, the US, and Russia, from which the 12 shortlisted startups have been selected.

At the Award Ceremony on the 17th May, the 12 shortlisted startups will have the chance to pitch their ideas to investors, academics, and Berlin’s startup community, before the prizes are awarded.

There will be keynotes from Trent McConaghy, founder of ascribe and BigchainDB, Thomas Birr, Head of Strategy & Innovation, RWE AG, and Jens Hewald and Thomas Hessler, founders of Globumbus.

Good idea, will add that option in the settings (hopefully with the v1.0.0 release).

While It is nice having the option to send from multiple accounts, I think it should be an op in option in the settings menu rather than the default. Again this is to save on actual day to day transaction time.
Think DoughWallet (Dogecoin wallet) on IOS, where its simplicity was literally its killer feature!

Putting the accounts you have created into that nice slim field with the little down area.. I don't think it can get any cleaner than that. Having multiple accounts was a highly requested feature, so using that little down area for something so major keeps it nice and simple IMO. I couldn't think of a better place to keep your access to those accounts other than in a select menu like that. Having to leave the app and go into the settings screen just to switch accounts seemed like it might tick some people off.

I agree.  With multiple account support, choosing which account to send from should be as simple as selecting it from the list.  Of course, in the settings, one should be able to indicate which account is the default.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious...but why is there a "From" field on the send screen?

Because this new wallet will let you import and/create multiple accounts.

Ah, I see.  Nice!

If there is only one account in wallet, just hide the "from" label and selection?

No, I want to encourage people to import accounts so that the mobile wallet (and hence our POS systems) will get used more often.
