Muse/SoundDAC / Re: Small delay in update

Thanks for the update. More time for some of us to buy at these low prices!

Is there an automated way to get tickets? I can't imagine going to a gas station to buy that many tickets for a big lottery pool.

There's a woman in Texas who has won her state's high stakes lottery three times. She has a system that sometimes works to increase her chances, but she apparently buys something like $5,000 worth of tickets at a time. That's a lot of paper.

I'd love to see a MUSE richlist if that's anywhere on the radar.
One of my split personalities is catching up on you.

And if you want, you can use CCEDK or Blocktrades to convert from OPEN- and TRADE- to your MUSE wallet. See the deposit/withrawal screen in your BitShares wallet.

Anyone who hasn't taken advantage of the low MUSE prices only has themselves to blame. I thought I was getting NOTEs at fire sale prices back during their fundraiser. Heck, I was donating to AGS back near the beginning of BitShares, buying up PTS also, and my main reason for doing so was to get in on the Music DAC. Since they opened up the MUSE token, we've had months and months of even lower rock bottom sale prices.

I'm not giving investment advice, but this might be your last chance for awhile, people.

General Discussion / Re: Help me with my prediction market
« on: January 13, 2016, 05:20:49 am »
If I get a chance I'll try to set up a test prediction market to see.  Anything happening within the next week that we want to predict?  How about price of bitcoin .  Over under of $450 in one weeks time.

If you want to stick with politics and do some shorter term tests, you could try the U.S. election's primary elections and caucuses. The first one is Iowa, February 1st. Pre-election polls are close enough right now you could do Trump vs. Cruz for Iowa Republicans and Clinton vs. Sanders for Iowa Democratic. The dates do vary slightly between the two major political parties, so here are the schedules for both Republican and Democratic primaries/causes (links below). The dynamics are fluid, so it might be best to just model the Iowa caucus first and then see how things change (for example, pre-election polls show that other Republican candidates  have a strong chance of finishing in the Top 2 in the second state, which is New Hampshire).

When you get them on the phone or the online chat, all you have to say is, "Please hold for Stan Larimer." Or cut and paste.

Just having fun. Honestly, I'm very glad to see you trying this and I hope it works well.

The Republicans are serving up lunch meat this time around. You might be more successful betting on the Democrats or an Independent.

Also note that if the price of BTS goes any direction .. the price for MUSE (against BTS) will fluctuate as well ..

Sometimes, it's quite frustrating to be trading everything against the BTS price rather than something less volatile. Over time, there should be less volatility as volume grows.

MUSE price is kept such a high level just because there's a whale, nothing else. when the whale move out, the price will fall.

Technical observations are basically irrelevant when there is news to trade on. We think news is coming soon with MUSE and that it could be sufficient to significantly affect the price. Therefore, good traders will either: (a) anticipate and trade on that news, or (b) ignore technical signals, sit on the sidelines, and wait.

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: Marketing - Bitcoin I'm Asking for Feedback

PM'ed you. Bitcointalk is full of tin-foil hat types and only the long-tenured posters have any credibility there. I lack the patience for that kind of thing, though we have some faithful longtime posters from this community. Reddit's Bitcoin community is fractured and messy. There are still some receptive Reddit subs, such as /r/ Cryptocurrency, where we've recruited some of our best members, but a lot fewer people are wandering by there than a year or two ago. The crypto shows and podcasts and news sites are very good places for publicity.

If I had my choice of how to market PeerTracks/MUSE/whatever-it-will-soon-be-called, I'd just buy some ads on crypto news sites and on relevant crypto subs and FB. It's worth the money. Better yet (and easier said than done), I'd add a fiat on-ramp so we wouldn't have to confine ourselves to the Bitcoin and crypto crowd. MUSE should appeal to a lot of different sub-groups, certainly way beyond just the crypto crowd.

This poll is for anybody/everybody. What do you think are the main barriers to entry for people using BitShares? What are the most common objections you hear?
If we can isolate some of the main reasons why not, then perhaps those are areas where we should focus our energy making improvements.

Imagine you were introduced to BitShares recently and chose NOT to use it. Why not? Feel free to post and explain your reasoning.

Technical Support / Re: What happened to the 30 million BTS

It's been a long time since I rock and rolled,
It's been a long time since I did the Stroll.
Ooh, let me get it back, let me get it back,
Let me get it back, baby, where I come from.
It's been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time. Yes it has.

Thank you. I'm getting a little sick of all the David Bowie stuff today. True innovator, RIP, but I'll take Zeppelin.
