Toast is just following the money.   When his paycheck ran out, he went to work for music, and then went to google.   It is better for him to earn $$$ and invest than to work for BTS.

I thought he burned the google bridge by choosing to work for BTS.

Nope, he is currently working at google.

Really?  :o  Since when?

It's complicated. I went back briefly (the vague blacklisting threats were apparently a buff as they called back 8 mo later) then went onto unpaid leave. Between now and leaving BTS I have worked on 4 projects that I intend to help see through completion one way or another...

Are you a nay or yay Bitshares 2.0?  Fan or not a fan of Bitshares still?

Do people sharedrop on Bitcoin because everyone uses POW?  I don't think so....

This is a sad statement.  I always saw cypto proliferation has having the chance to thrwat censorship in other nations.

It's far ahead now-- but technology may prove to undercuts governments censorship tools (eg. SpaceX and satellite internet and Google Blimps and Pcell).  Is there any forecoming developments in the sophistication of the local access networks? What would allow the necessities of the current ISPs structures to be reduced...?

General Discussion / Re: TOP 3 REASONS TO BUY BITSHARES NOW!
« on: August 29, 2015, 06:57:37 pm »
Oh this is fun!

1) Only a portion of partnerships have been announced and waiting release of Bitshares 2.0.  This would help light the fuse.
2) Dev core team is restructing bitshares to payout on project based only, instead of via delegates.  This should quickly enable serious projects to get proposed.
3) Dev core team has shown flexibility and adaptability when confronted with challenges and roadblocks.  This approach should carry Bitshares forward and include newer features as time goes on, and help it thrive in changing regulatory and competitive environment.

Was it me, or did I hear end of October for release of Bitshares 2.0?  That's in line with 8 weeks.

Why did Toast leave?  And why did you say there was a chance he would come back into the fold?

[00:09:09] fuzzy: I’m looking through our questions right now and Intmaster’s asking you bm, “What is toast doing? Is toast working with you guys at all anymore? Do you guys talk to him at all?”.

[00:09:22] bytemaster: I talk to toast from time to time. He’s working with Peertracks to some extent. But he is working full-time at Google and has been for the past several months. So his time to work on this stuff is his spare time.

Doesn't explain WHY he left.  Only the HOW.  For what reason did Toast leave?

Another week.  Price is dropping to its low, accounting in the expectation that there is only three and a half weeks of summer left.  The lack of information is being taken into consideration by the market.

General Discussion / Re: $210 Million Transacted on Bitreserve...

We're in alpha going into beta with 2.0: Our fundamentals are great and the community is good, but everything else is mediocre or worse. With 2.0 and the referral program we should see a shift towards marketing, ease of use and documentation. But this is just as costly as core development, so either some of the front-end entrepreneurs around here manage to raise some serious funds (millions), or we need a cryptobull season making us rich enough to fund the required marketing/branding/design. Since we can neither rely on a cryptobull season, nor voters having the courage to pay for marketing/branding/design, we must pray that some genius front end entrepreneurs manage to raise the money required to make BitShares mainstream. Fortunately, this can come about by several avenues, either Cryptonomex or one of the BitShares network partners like MoonStone, CCEDK, BunkerShares or BANX (who all earn via referral fees, making them 80% owners of the network), or via independent chain licensing partners such as PeerTracks and Identabit (who all earn via share-appreciation of their respective chains).
Excellently summarized.

Why not take VC money? It's certainly possible to do equity crowd funding now so when the Bitshares 2.0 platform is released a lot of Bitshares companies can start on the Bitshares platform itself, offer stock options or equity crowd fund through Bitshares 2.0, and then ask for VC money.

Bitshares has yet to deliver.  Nobody can talk about doing anything until if Bitshares 2.0 is delivered.  Everything could end tomorrow and the dev team could walk away.

Another week without announcment.  Investors are tired of empty promises and the price is reflecting that.  It's crashing hard.  What this tells me is that the rise before bitshares 2.0bwas due to profit in the news that there would be many good partnerships announced over the summer.  Now investors are correcting that view.  They also probably see the announcements given thus far are not satisfactory for where the price is today.  So downtrend is possible back to 8mm.  That's what the market is saying/

It's so dumb that anyone would value brownie points the same as bts when it gets an equal 20%.  There is little distinction in free market value.  But that's exactly what happened.  Dev team is devaluing bitshares with the introduction of brownie points because by that deal, brownie points are worth more right now.  Brownie points goes up in value and bitshares goes down.

What are the odds the selling is from large CNX holders and they plan to announce an Ethereum App in the next few months?

Like Augur?

Maybe.

Graphene is a far superior platform but if Ethereum continues gaining popularity and network effect I wonder if there wouldn't be more incentive for CNX to build on top of Ethereum?

They might be able to raise a few million dollars with an Augur-style crowdfund and also have a larger market of customers.

That makes no sense.  Why do you need Bitshares on Ethereum if you have Augur?
