General Discussion / Re: Liquidity, Liquidity, Liquidity

,obvious resolution here would be to provide incentive for shorter in from of transaction fee, that would compensate for those two inbalances. All other possible measures only rectify or reduce this mayor one. It would make mmbots unprofitable? I doubt.

"obvious resolution here would be to provide incentive for shorter in from of transaction fee"

Hmmm. My theoretical explanations (9-12 mo. ago) have been long proven by actual real life.... occurrences. ...
aka Meager "transaction fees" cannot, no where enough offset actual risks taken by the short position holders....

When will STEEM has 10% or less inflation for the first time (best case scenario + market cap measured per founders preferred method aka  all steems included)

2027?.... 2047?

And the answer is ... 2016.

LOL.
Thanks for answering my May 20th question... not exactly 10% or less but close to .
LOL

General Discussion / Re: Any non spam posts I should read here?

Have been off of here (once my favorite place on the net) for months.

Is there any non spam/ non scam/ non idiotic promotions/ etc content  I should read?.

Sorry but the scam wall of posts by Compuseeds, followed by other almost equally deceiving posts by Obits (and or their other 20th ICO project), with no quality in between, just makes me  to want to puke.

Why hang out here when you can get unlimited free money for liking posts of half naked chicks on steem???

The fuckage of bitshares holders via the merger was bad, but the pure desecration of the larimers lemmings via steem has been awesome to watch. I remember when I said steem was a scam to manipulate coin market cap, that I had "zero vision". But now that steem has run its investor screwing course, it's probably time for cnx to release another "innovative" vehicle to run over investors with.  Wonder what it will be called... Plasma? Graphene 2.0?

I agree. Actually if you read one of my last comments on Steemit (by my hidden but not really hidden identity on Steemit) I just commented that BM...aaah sorry dantheman has currently "disappeared to do just that - think on his next scam... sorry did I say scam? I meant project of his."

What exactly sets apart "scam" vs "project?"

Those are perfect synonyms in BM's head, as far as I can tell.

wow Thanks all for responding... when I read/got through the last 100 posst I was hoping [but not really expecting] for at least a single answer. So once again Thanks to all helping me not go through 10 tons of shit to find nothing! I do appreciate it.

@mf-tzo - you are on a roller coaster man... last thing I read from you was highly optimistic post of yours on Steemit [and yes, I do read Steemit a bit more often than btsforum.... mainly because of the amusement factor which is 10x higher right now (for what I find amusing in/with Steem read the next paragraph)] praising both BTS and Steem as a great buy... LOL What changed your mind? Sudden drop in blood pressure (and by pressure I mean price falling like a rock...rock falling on a planet 5x bigger than earth with no atmosphere?

@lil_jay890 I do not remember what you called (expected from/for) Steem in its early days... but it has always been my take that "Steem will be one of the most spectacular failures that the crypto world has ever seen (and crypto has seen more than its fair share of all kinds of BS as you know). Weirdly enough these posts of mine are now no where to be found on bitsharestalk.org ????
Come on tonyk, Steemit's success should be judged by the wallets of those that premined  - sorry "secured" - 90% of the tokens and got to slowly but steadily dump them on the market the past several months.
LOL

BTW they prefer the term NinjaMined as opposed to 'secured' and 'pre-mined'... it might be me and my non-native English but I always laugh at how they find their term better (less bad) in any way.

Random Discussion / Re: Your opinion on Bytemaster
« on: August 26, 2016, 08:20:39 pm »

@tonyk would you be interested in an interview/group chat/podcast whatever with tone vays, me and maybe 1-2 more people? I know you've posted a lot, but I would like to ask you to give me a detailed kind of timeline/review of all the bad/crazy things you've observed, mainly by Bytemaster.

I am not completely sure it was not a misspell ...but if not sure.

PS
Hope this does not sound reverseflash,
but I do fell ,I know I know bytemaster aka @theman a touch more than his own psychiatrist and or mother by now....

9
@no one in particular....

bitUSD has much MUCH better design than S(b)D Steem (Steam?) Backed Dollar.

Unfortunately dan/bytemaster...dan/dantheman/reverseflash learned little to nothing from bitshares to put into steem

@ ben / 'I am a dev'  / therotical (ly) is genius mathematician - he can literally put any concept you can image in working math terms. I do marvel how he solves it for X....every and each time....

But both of them are not even close (it seems like they are not even trying) to see the real problems they are creating with the steam design.
It is such a money grab right now....enormous money grab...NuBits scam seems like a child play...

I am still active on BitShares but I am not the right guy to do the marketing .. simple because I don't run a business on top of BitShares .. it's the job of those that profit from providing the exchange features to the people that should look into marketing it properly ..

BitShares as a project was quite lucky to have you as a supporter.  From my limited observations on the project you've brought as much professionalism as any other single person.

I just remember back previously, there'd be someone going around on here trying to rally the troops to make others know about the BItShares DEX.

Hahaha scam is irresistible...
for 5%-15% of what xeroc did for bitshares, he is doing for steem(it) and getting paid(well supposedly) 45K a week!

I have to point out that i used to be a big fan of BitAssets. I thought they were amazing and it took my a while to understand how they work, precisely because it didn't make any financial sense. I would also like to apologise to @tonyk who I personally attacked and thought he was an idiot.

But... but he is indeed an idiot!

I couldn't understand why was he spending his time trying to reason with people that didn't have a clue about the things they were talking about (myself included) and I finally understand why bitcoin maximalists call altcoins scams...

anyway this is  a child's play, in comparison
...wait until the steaming pile of steem_ed BS  inevitably implodes... then you will see what a srypto scheme colapse does to the unsuspected masses...

It will an epic fun...unfortunately ONLY for the 2 of us not evolved - me and E1.08

any idea how to short it?

Isuue a "betterSTEEM" IOU (on bts preferably as you have bridges to steem already).

1. Better steem has the same conversion ratio as the vested steem but takes say 3-6m to divest instead of 2 years.[achieved by maintaining a buy betterSteem with Open.Steem order representing the current conversion/divesting ratio]
2. Offer some interest 10%? on top of 1.

If you sell the received steem (received for selling the betterSTEEM tokens)  ...you have shorted steem.

Subsidizing Liquidity - rejected because of dilution and some thought it should be done off-chain
To be honest, the original proposal made by Dan is not as good as he and some others expected. Same design got implemented on Steem already, as an experience, has been running for a week. The result, distribution of reward is highly manipulated as TonyK predicted, although spread is good at most time.

BitShares need stability. It's good that unproven features got tested on somewhere else first.

well... 20K USD per day  is a very nice return bot (even if you had to pay for the money you play trade with; even better in your case where you did not have to put them)

All that assuming you can cash out (at least several days of returns) before the new "most idiotic creation in crypto*" crash before our own "non-believing eyes"

*Steem beats NuBits by a wild margin of stupidity, imho... no matter what the indeed truly respected by me (and indeed expellant writer) donkeypong believes (or forces himself to believe)

...but if you have to narrow it down... I would choose 2a (tonyk's proposal), 2b (subsidizing liquidity), and 2d (temporarily have no trading fees until sufficient liquidity is reached). You could even add in maker taker fees, but is is kind of redundant with subsidizing liquidity. You could do it either way... maker/taker or subsidizing liquidity.

What made you change your mind? Last I remember you considered the tonyk's proposal a total pile of BS? Anyway that proposal is a no go in this community - the proposal has as its essence using the true (even if lower) valuation of its shares... as it has became crystal clear since then at least 90% of this community prefers - made up, artificial centralized some might call it Ponzi-like schemes where one gets money out of thin air granted by centralized god like whales... the community is apparently great at prizing endlessly such phony schemes so the masters can drop/grant them a few (printed by those masters themselves btw) steeeming pennies.

2b -subsidizing liquidity - is indeed the true needed step... but then again instead of this being done months ago...it was not... all the effort of this community went in supporting the crazy balloon called steem.... The lack of desire for this badly needed element to be implemented speaks volumes.

If there was subsidized offering for traders to be rewarded, what level of reward would be enough to make you want to trade on the dex?

The point is- it is known it is definitely > 0
... other wise swing at it...
