Interesting. There are people in that list that haven't posted here in a very long while, perhaps that should be taken into account as well. In doing so it also should be considered what the quality of such "dormant" accounts were when they were active.

That probably means that they will not notice their brownies either... So from one side it will be good for brownies value since they will remain... VESTED BROWNIES   ;D

No. The Digix crowdsale was incredibly suspicious. They raised what $5 million in 14 hours? Possibly a legal workaround or something else going on there.

I didn't thought that way before your comment... Have you some evidence that the majority of the tokens didn't reached a wider audience but only a little minority?
(the only suspicious, that make sense after your comment, was that they apologized because many fund-raiser never managed to sent their ethers to the crowd-sale addresses due to the "fact" that they didn't configured they wallet's for variable(?) GAS transactions ???...)

I'm here from bitcointalk. This thread seems to be a little meatier than the bitcointalk thread. I like the technical info although I have no idea what a brownie is.

About my involvement in STEEM: I've mined this coin since before it launched  :P

I'd like to run a delegate/witness node, so here is more:

I have been following crypto for about 2.5 years now and it was only a few short months after my first purchase of BTC before I started getting involved on the development side. Lately, I have been working with the Eclipse dev team as a programmer. To clarify things, we have several devs. I am the lead (overly-outspoken) programmer. We also have an administrative dev and a cryptography expert. We are all "equals", leading different parts of the project.

I have expertise in enough programming languages not to bother mentioning them all. One language I will mention is C++ because much of crypto is written in it. I've studied cryptocurrency code so much that I can read through it like a newspaper and can spot logic bugs without even running the code. I have written a lot of cryptocurrency code for many projects.

I have many years of experience in system administration, setting up long running networks both as a consultant and salaried professional.

If I run a witness, I will do so using a top-tier cloud platform like google, amazon, or azure.

I prefer my witness account to be "steemed" if I am selected. I also have steemroller and steemer, and many, many others.

I have been putting everything into vests, even at the low rates we have been getting now. I was probably one of the first people with vests after relaunch.

I'm excited to see where this project will go. I have been recruiting new participants behind the scenes, and even helped a few people at BCT both on the board and privately.

Even if I didn't have a stake in this project, I'd be enthusiastic about its progress as the devs' goal is one of the well known killer dapps that will serve a useful purpose to society.

welcome on board!
We are happy to have you here.

brownies.pts is a personal UIA (User Issued Asset) created from Daniel Larimer aka Bytemaster and he use it to reward who ever help him... it reflects his "value"...  8)

I am willing to sell to you, @JonnyBitcoin, all of my shares at 8.34 BTS each in order for you to be able to accomplish what you say you would like to see.

Sell STEALTHS openly on OL  and give the opportunity to our community to participate !

sell them in parallel with 5 different prices and give as 2 weeks....   (like a crowd-sale)

1. 20% at 8.0 BTS / STEALTH
2. 20% at 8.5 BTS / STEALTH
3. 20% at 9.0 BTS / STEALTH
4. 20% at 9.5 BTS / STEALTH
5. 20% at 10 BTS / STEALTH

I am sure it will be successful!

PS just throwing ideas

General Discussion / Re: The Benefits of Proof of Work [BLOG POST]
« on: April 07, 2016, 12:30:40 pm »
For instance, a user could lock up some bts for 1 year but also create bitassets out of that locked bts to be traded on the dex for that period of 1 year.  A margin call would cancel this contract.  Perhaps users who do this could be paid more.  This would give the network the full benefit of those bts by also providing liquidity to the dex.

I agree that the locked funds could give much more value if they are used to work for the blockchain and not just sitting there... the bitAsset creation is a wonderful example for a blockchain that gives priority to a DEX (like BTS)... For another chain it could be something very different but related to its chain existence...

On top not sure how tether.usd is possible when I have the asset TETHER already?

They could not usd.tether... (thether.usd is fine I think)

Now that I know you are interested in this, I will try to push harder for its completion.

Perhaps I haven't won yet.  I intend to buy back brownies with some of my STEEM once all the infrastructure is in place to do it.  I need to know how much STEEM I personally end up with.

That means you have/will not vest all of your STEEMS to "sharedrop" on your brownies holders? !!!!  (selling "pumped" STEEMS to buy-back brownies)
That would definitely refresh a big part of our community !

147
Do you guys convert all steem to vested? The conversion starts to be quite ineffective :(

More effective than not converting. You may be getting less VESTS but that is just another way of saying that the mining reward as a percent of total STEEM is rapidly falling.  This is no different than any other crypto coin while the supply rapidly grows in percentage terms.

Except we speculate that STEEM will be pumped very high the first days on the exchanges (after about 3 weeks?) due to minimal supply of STEEMS. Only if you don't intend to keep them but only to dump them with a nice profit ...?
Dilution will be minimal compared to the huge demand....No?

Welcome welcome welcome !!!

Who are these investors let in on the ground floor?  Were they Brownie holders?  I'm a brownie holder and didn't here anything about this opportunity.

YES what about brownies holders? I thought it is a BM asset... When bm wins brownies should rise! not?

I don't like private profits being made from something that should be a core feature of bitshares.

I understand and appreciate that @onceuponatime has taken on risk and reduced sell pressure on BTS get Stealth asset implemented but I think this feature would be better as just a standard feature .

I'd like to see @onceuponatime  to sell this feature to bitshares and delete the Stealth asset.

He could sell it for whatever he paid +25% to cover costs and make a profit. This could be done as a worker proposal.

I've never thought Fee Backed Assets for core bitshares functions made any sense whatsoever.

 +5% +5%

I would support this move as well.  The easiest way to do so is to create a worker, get it voted in, and refund once upon a time his money.  That would require about 7.5 million BTS.  Maximum dilution for about 3 weeks should do the trick if my math is right.

Who thinks we can get that approved by shareholders?

Have you asked onceuponatime ?
