IDentabit / Re: Important Criticism

I like this project and think it has potential. The one thing that seems unprofessional to me is the name itself. I would suggest using a naming service like http://www.namebase.com (there are many others). I would also recommend staying away from any and all cliches like "bit" for example. I would opt for a name that has nothing to do with cryptocurrency. Example: Ethereum, Ripple, Stellar, Graphene. These are all great names.

+5% Best mobile crypto wallet in existence. Well done guys.

+5% Great idea. Getting delegates to publish feeds in under two weeks will be difficult though.

I have a business with one of the co-founders of Kraken.  I was told under no circumstance will they work with us.  Ever.

I'm interested in their reasons as well.

Why is it always Ethereum and never Bitshares.
Where is Ethereum anyway? This is not a rhetorical question.

Do they have a client?
I went to www.ethereum.org but couldnt find anything there.

For whatever reason, Etherium has very good PR behind them. As a result they've captured the majority of momentum in this space.

  • Does investing 150k into BTS and watching the marketcap tank count?  :-\

I seriously hope you are completely full of shit.

I wouldn't even know where to begin. That sounds completely irresponsible whether you have a multimillion dollar trust fund, you are a lottery winner, or whatever.

You obviously couldn't ride the waves of the market and you needed to quit so you could pay the bills. This makes me sad that some of you are so wrongfully invested in something so risky and unknown. I am really hoping that you are just an heir to the family fortune and piss away money like that regularly rather than spending actual earned money.  :(

Not full of shit and yes it was irresponsible of me.

Heard about this on today's mumble hangout. It's a great way to reward effort. I wish something like this was in place when nullstreet was booming. I don't think as many people would have burned out if they were given recognition for everything they did. As for what I've personally contributed, I put a lot of my time and energy into bitshares last year and ultimately burned out as market cap eroded and I saw my investment dwindle away to almost nothing (had to focus on my own business and paying the bills, etc).
  • Created whatisbitusd.com and got it ranked #1 in Google for "bitusd".
  • Referred the second most number of users.
  • Started the nullstreet movement (everyone burned out though)
  • Didn't take a cent from the delegate I created (gave remainder to cass)
  • Came up with the idea for a blockchain based referral program.
  • Does investing 150k into BTS and watching the marketcap tank count?  :-\
Anyway, good luck with this.

Either markets are completely irrational or there is some development with LTC I'm not aware of.

General Discussion / Re: 36 100% delegates
« on: July 08, 2015, 04:50:29 pm »
he's got point, the system has no accountability at the moment. Another reason for bitshares2.0 where there are a bit more checks and balances
- most of the 100% delegates are devs and they are working very hard to get BTS2 out there ASAP
- some few of the 100% delegates will certainly be voted out in bts2, namely the marketing delegates which should be funded through referrals ..

+5% Riverhead has been using marketing.methodx to provide liquidity for metaexchange since January. I never took any BTS for myself other than the registration fee. I would prefer the delegate be voted out so I'm not accused of taking BTS and doing nothing in return.

Also, I pay hosting expenses for marketing.methodx, bytemaster and a few other delegates.

There is no whitepaper currently but I think we definitely need one for BitShares to ever be taken seriously.

Since most here seem to like the term incentive over interests, I'm very concerned over potential problems with the conflict of incentives in the move to cryptonomex/bitshares2.0.

Wow, +5% to that entire post. I too have noticed that in this community, it's always been more about profit and comparing salaries to Google employees then freedom and building a fair financial system. Recently, I've been seriously questioning whether cryptocurrency will change anything when it's human nature that's fucked up. Even if we pay lip service to "liberty", our God is money.

Financial INCENTIVES must be aligned to produce freedom.   It is crazy to think that we can build a platform that secures life, liberty, and property while depending upon individuals doing something against their best interest.   Profit must exist for any system to be sustainable.  Above market profit must exist for any system to grow.

Yes, I agree. I think you guys have been doing a great job and it's easy for anyone to criticize from their Internet armchairs with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight. I'm speaking more about the crypto community in general as I've come to see it recently and how flawed human nature is. I don't doubt your commitment to genuinely doing something great for humanity. It's obvious you deeply want that above all else.

I think the root cause of the angst in the BTS (and every other crypto community) is the bear market we've been in for over a year. If the bottom didn't fall out of crypto nobody would even be having these discussions.

 +5% Great idea.

My feeling is that the success of BTS depends heavily on stakeholder voting, and if we are ever able to get over 50% of active stake agreement on some things that would be very helpful.

+5% Absolutely. Shareholder voting is one of our killer features" that hasn't been leveraged to its potential.
