General Discussion / Re: Increasing BitShares Revenue
« on: December 01, 2015, 05:27:54 am »
I am disappointed by the replies so far.

Sorry I took it as a  joke.

- Want to learn how to daytrade on OpenLedger
"Already have experience daytrading on the network."

You cannot daytrade on a network were the whole daily volume has to be a profit for you, to make worth your time.
You can do it for fun like I do, though.

Hey tonyk, here is how I see it:

1. If more users knew how to use OL and used it for "fun-trading", they would probably throw more money into it.
2. More trading = More liquidity
3. More liquidity = More users

Or we can just all sit here with a DEX that no one uses, complain to no end and wait for a miracle to happen.
well, if you think that's all it takes I do my part.
So you can just start doing it. I do not think the call for action - "let's all do it" will help much.

Also if you read my other post about my BTS experience - https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,20356.msg262356.html#msg262356
be prepared - it is 'fun' in a very twisted kind of way.

If we had a weekly live session where you could learn how to profit from opportunities on the DEX, bridges and gateways...would you show up?

General Discussion / Building a culture of traders
« on: December 01, 2015, 04:48:50 am »
Now, this is just my opinion but I believe that bitshares need more trading to be happening on the network in order for the market to become more efficient.

Many people simply wait and hope that it's going to happen by itself.

But we already have a few thousand users who for the majority DON'T TRADE.
To me, that's an issue. Especially when the foundation of our business model is to be a decentralized exchange.

Please reply if you either:

- Want to learn how to daytrade on OpenLedger
- Already have experience daytrading on the network.

in a no depth and liquidity marketing I don't think a daytrader can make much money from the market. they're most earned from rule. but this money comes from others lost. currently this is a hurt to the whole system.

I am no expert but isn't it the very nature of wall street and forex to have winners and losers?

And if we want more liquid market, what do we need?

More trading?

you're right, but the reality is we're not wall street, we don't have much users. it's easy to die.

Just curious, are you a daytrader? Are you trading on another platform because there is no enough opportunities on openledger?

General Discussion / Increasing BitShares Revenue
« on: December 01, 2015, 03:00:52 am »
I may not be the only one here in this situation.

I really like the bitshares and what it stands for BUT I find myself looking at openledger and I have no clue how I can make money doing day trading on it. Absolutely no clue.

If I had enough knowledge to at least believe I could make money trading on it, I would be using a lot more. I would be trading on multiple market and generate fees to the network.

Now, who do you know that could teach people like me to use OL for daytrading?
This is a golden opportunity for someone who has this knowledge to make referral revenue.

Please reply if you:
- Want to learn how to daytrade on OpenLedger
- Already have experience daytrading on the network.

I HIGHLY oppose this idea.

Ads are the job of marketers and they should pay for themselves in conversions.

Businesses built on top of bitshares are responsible to do the advertising and testing for their own products.

I do not have the knowledge to make such radical decision.

General Discussion / Re: ShareBits Marketing Task Force

It's a live chat. I have it on my android phone but it's available on Iphone. I'm not sure but I think you can also use it on your computer.

There is a BitShares channel pretty active on it. Usually hundreds of message/day.

Cool. I'll download it.

In the meanwhile here is a cool tip/trick to automatically send a token whenever someone follows you on twitter.

Go to https://unfollowers.com/ , connect your account and under the tab "Automate" you can setup a auto-tweet than send someone a token for following you. See my twitter account for example: https://twitter.com/cryptoctopus777

I join your little group of 2 guys !

I think that the ShareBits is awsome !

The future will be crowed with cryptocurrencies and "social" cryptocurrencies. Be able to receive a "like" facebook token  or a "+5%" token on a forum who has a value would change the face of the social networks as we know them ! It already began here and it's amazing how people started to use it !

Also, ShareBits is the fastest, cheapest and funniest way we have know to evolve awarness around BitShares and his decentralised plateform (where you will be able to trade the tokens received for others or Fiat money.)

I can't see anything more effectif that this whole community starting to tip on tweeter, reddit, google+, youtube, others forums, ... lots of funny tokens who actually have value !

Even if BitShares is not build to play with "emotoken", it would be a shame not jump on this occasion the have fun, make money and promote BitShares !

I was thinking, wouldn't it be a good idea to create a telegram group to share ideas on the run? It also could provide a place for quick feedbacks for the devs.
What's telegram?

General Discussion / Re: Fee Backed Assets (FBA)
« on: November 28, 2015, 04:33:40 pm »
In the case of STEALTH for example, the distribution of fees could be:

20% goes to the network
20% in a multisig account for maintenance, upgrade or development on related products
60% goes to holders of the FBA...paid daily in BTS.  8)

This way, the feature can keep on improving and extend it's product line in order to become more and more profitable.
