For how complex and unprecedented this product is I'm blown away by just how well things are going. Big props to the devs.
Also do you know if there is anywhere in the BitsharesX client where you can see what the actuall version is? I can not find it. Now I know what version I have since I have the old .exe but if I didn't have it I wouldn't know.
After posting 15 extremely optimistic post, my bipolar nature leads me to this:
Should we really call BTSX 'A Bank'? I really do not think it is fair or beneficial.
After all a bank is a lending institution. All this mumbo-jumbo how it lends providing a collateral,.. just like a mortgage, is not really convincing and or cutting it for me. With a mortgage (and with most of the other stuff given as collateral) it is not money you give, it is something of value but usually not too liquid.
Additionally I am happy enough if BTSX is just a 'Beautiful' eXchange.
We should call it a credit union. We had this discussion before.
Decentralized autonomous credit union.
I know why you did not actually read the post that you quoted.
Credit union is great for:
-Legal reasons;
-Community spirit/ideal it carries;
It is a terrible name in the context I am trying to address.
'Hi, welcome to our credit union, how can I help you'
'Hi, I am interested in the credit/loan products you offer?'
'Uhhhh, let's see, we have.....None?'
Awesome, thanks for the replies! I'm so happy to be involved in this new technology. I currently own some Bitshares-PTS and Bitshares X.
My question now is, what will happen with this snapshot thing on 8/21? I dont really understand what will happen with my PTS, and how I will receive credit for holding them. Any detailed help is much appreciated!
normally I can control this shit, but that just lets me procrastinate something I really do need to go do.
That is one of the larger roadblocks to getting the professional help you need. When you're in control enough to make the rational decisions to seek help you think, "Gah, I'm fine. Not sure what that sh*t was I was feeling before but I'm all good now. Phew".
Looking forward to a revamp by Cass and our marketing director.
