General Discussion / Re: Need Help Sourcing Information on BitShares
« on: July 01, 2014, 04:23:24 am »
You guys see that this is a thread about helping with sourcing information on bitshares and not on bashing adam levine and charles hoskinson. None of the added commentary is necessary and it is completely unbecoming

I have just posted an updated Mac wallet:   http://bitshares.org/BitSharesXT-0.0.7.dmg

This wallet has many fixes and enhancements.

I recommend delegates rebuild with the latest code to get updates that resolve some networking stalls.

the latest mac wallet crashes 100% of the time for me on the "Loading Configuration" splash screen
Have you wiped your old data directory?

DOH!! that fixed it. thanks puppies

ill repost some of my suggestions from the last thread that didnt gain any traction:

i think the 'one line' descriptions in the Domains subsection of Industries looks much better than the 'stacked columns' style in the other sections (music, charities, backing), and its easier to read that way to boot. Either way, it seems like there should be consistency between pages that are so similar

vs

Maybe its just me, but when I read those "stacked columns" in my head it just doesn't sound right or flow like it should.

On another note, it might be worth adding a careers/jobs section so that people looking for work in this space know what kinds of skills/positions Invictus is looking for in particular

Great work, very close now! +5% +5%

We should have "reception" section like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethereum too,
it seems there we can brag and pretend not to brag while bragging about press. ;)

if the whole affair was as simple as releasing a wallet, it would have been done by now.

Invictus is not building pieces of unrelated software that exist in a vacuum (like most CS projects). they are literally industry pioneers attempting to create a software ecosystem. over the past few months the scope of their operation has expanded and despite some hiccups, they've been very transparent about what's been happening development-wise. This is a fact.

personally, this new vision excites me much more than the original plan ever did, however it has also pushed back the development of a Bitshares X wallet. But ONLY in the name of improving Bitshares X! This is a fact.

If you haven't had a chance to follow, Bitshares XTS, which is the Bitshares X test chain, is available and appears to be coming along quite nicely. It is more robust, sustainable, and feature rich than originally planned. This is a fact, and it is also why it has taken more time to see a wallet released. It is an entirely different beast than developing a dime-a-dozen PoW wallet.

awesome work guys. this may seem like a strange request, but would any of you guys mind sharing some newer photos of the office, your workstations, or maybe a pic of the recently united crew? i know yall are busy and its an exciting time... but im excited too damnit! I wanna see some of the cool stuff thats happening over there, and i know im not the only one! Plus photos are very... tangible and can go a long way in helping people feel connected to a project or experience

Actually, Brian plans to make a video of life on the BitShares Bridge and take you deep inside the BitShares Bunker.  He will be filming it on Monday.

even better, looking forward to it  :)

awesome, thanks for the update!

awesome, glad to see im not alone on this one!

Amazon, any word on if/when this is gonna happen? I think Gamey made some pretty compelling arguments : )

Brian,
Other parts of the Angelshares funded ecosystem have daily updates (Bitshares and Keyhotee), maybe doing the same detailing your efforts would help keep the community informed of your value to the project and also be a great reason to document this important time in DAC history :)

What did you spend your time doing today?  What value are you providing to AGS investors?

I think it's a mistake to attack criticism, if you're working hard there can be no complaints, help your critics see the truth.

 +5% absolutely nailed it

General Discussion / Re: Petition to fire Brian Page
« on: May 30, 2014, 02:20:41 am »
the development team is completely transparent. we pretty much know everything that they're up to, because they always take the time to let us know. bytemaster and toast especially. constant communication, frequent engagement, and transparency are hallmarks of their posting styles

on the other hand, marketing related updates are far more sparse. Brian also does not engage users on the board nearly as frequently. im not saying that this is a bad thing, or that Brian is not doing a good job, etc.. but i think its pretty easy to understand how the disparity in transparency between the development arm and the marketing arm could make current investors/users uneasy
