Huzzah, after only 5% transaction scanning progress, my BTS have returned to me. Crisis averted. Phew!

Thanks to all! Love this community.

Time to sit back, relax, and watch the impending BTS takeover. lol

are you fully synced?

Says "blocks are synced", and I'm on block 3,510,494...pretty sure it's synced up okay. I'm hoping the larger regenerate key number will help. Not sure what else I can try at this point. Thanks fav.

Thanks chryspano. I just went ahead and rescanned with 50,000 to make sure the bases are covered. Will probably take a few hours, but oh well. Will report back.

Technical Support / Missing chunk of BTS
« on: September 05, 2015, 06:15:08 pm »
Hi all,

I had exported my wallet earlier to reinstall Windows, but after reimporting the wallet was showing me as not having a BTS balance at all. Was pretty terrifying. I tried reindexing the blockchain (the client crashed on me and I let it reset the database), and running the wallet_regenerate_keys command with 20,000, but it was only able to "find" about 84% of my previous BTS balance. I'm also missing all but 130 of my Brownie balance. The amounts remaining seem pretty random. Due to a bug my client had a long time ago, I'm not able to see anything in the "recent transaction" history section either, so I have no idea if my funds were sent somewhere or what. Any ideas? Appreciate any help.

Very nice and timely...

These (even if target time is missed by a week or 2) are very nice news and perfectly coinciding with my prediction for a[edit bout] 50% drop (made here
… but by now those stupid BTS should have fallen by more than 50% in CNY terms ( aren’t they BM?) (alternatively BM should have come back to his senses)…but this were the good old days, I guess and I should have been able to make my 100% gain by now.
and here
When the lead developer of the project wants the BTS price to go down* who am I to argue with him. And as I have no other means to short BTS I did the next best thing - sold [edit all my BTS] (not now but within days of the brownie points announcement) and am waiting for the price to at least cut in half to buy back.
)

In so many words...time to buy back my BTS. And for you to do the same (or even short bitUSD or whatever your risk profile calls for)...

my 2 c - buy Buy BUY  :)

Tony's back!!

BULLISH!!

Do it roach!  Be the one to create the multi purpose bitshares GUI that brings in the users!  Get rich off referral fees while making us all rich in the process! :)

Hmmm...I could dig that.   :D

Do people sharedrop on Bitcoin because everyone uses POW?  I don't think so....

You already forgot the existing social contract my friend!

That social contract is only if they wanted help from our community I believe. The code was open source and free to use. They have no obligation towards us, however, we, as a (much bigger) community won't care about helping them at all. But since they don't seem to mind, I don't see where is the problem. The more projects use DPOS the better because ultimately we are the ones who will get recognition

Yea, we can't really force a "social contract" down their throats if they don't really care to have our "support"...pointing fingers at them for not giving us free stuff just looks childish. Let them be.

2) Community here is awesome, helpful, insightful, intelligent, and awesome.
3) It's a great way to make money over the next few months. Stated again cuz this is the most important reason. Who doesn't love money? Oh and it just feels great to support such a cutting-edge/awesome endeavor.

Weeks away !!! Nice !!!

If we considère that 8 weeks are 2 months, if the release would have been set for more than 8 weeks Stan would have said : "month away"

We can asume it's less than 8 weeks. There is 4 weeks for the "test phase". So we are less than 3 weeks for the announcement. As said before, the price would start to rise a few day before the announcement.
So we have, from now, maximum 2 weeks and half more having to watch these ridiculous prices and then ... the fun begin !!!

I like your thinking bro. Let's just hope we can maintain the timeline. Really don't feel like going through another "November" like last year...

Love how the first post there is a troll post, begging to be deleted. Good on Stan not deleting it. And the responses to it are perfect.

Yea, it's pretty obvious that a huge amount of those numbers come from Halsey himself. Just a cheap tactic to make themselves look bigger than they are. Unfortunately it works.

Guys, BM is a free human being and we do not own him.
When he announced the brownie points he specifically declared that it is a UIA governed by his own rules and subjective criteria. He is FREE to do it.
And he is also free to change the rules as he likes as it is his own reputation on the line, nothing to do with us.

If you don't like anything about BM's brownie points, go ahead and create your own "brownie points" and distribute them according to the rules you prefer.

It's not that I think the intentions of brownies are bad or that the idea itself doesn't have merit...it's more just that it's obvious brownies are an avenue for controversy, as can be seen by all the conflicting opinions displayed here. These kinds of controversies need to be anticipated/avoided before they erupt and just end up pissing people off.

Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.
