General Discussion / Decent
« on: November 20, 2015, 06:06:50 pm »
I'm always looking for good investments.

Does Decent have any holes in their business model that you can see?
http://cointelegraph.com/news/115690/decent-smashing-down-the-censorship-ecosystem

Lack of DPOS?
Good Writers can't count on a regular income?
No Editors, or possibly, Editors and Publishers that could be co-opted?
They want to charge for subscriptions to pay the bills?
Will they not commit articles for eternal archival? Who makes those decisions?

I LONG for the day we get decentralized news from trusted sources.

Deutsch (German) / ShareBits.io
« on: November 16, 2015, 08:48:47 am »

In my downloaded light wallet, i click on an account name, then click on Deposit/Withdraw, then on the right side it shows me OpenLedger and Blocktrades with a few coins available from each.

1. As new coins are added, and 2., as new Exchanges and Gateways are added, will they appear on that side of the screen automatically, or do I need to keep upgrading my light wallet?

I'm asking because I can see Poloniex, BTC38 etc listed on richlist (or I did anyway), but they do not appear in my wallet (v2.0.151103)...

General Discussion / Gateways missing from Deposit/Withdraw screen
« on: November 11, 2015, 02:34:46 pm »
Click on an Account in your wallet, click on Deposit/Withdraw...

I see Open Ledger (CCEDK) and BlockTrades.us, but..

Why doesn't Poloniex, MetaExchange, Yunbi, BTC38, BTER, DACPlay, BunkerDEX and BANX show on that page?

ps: OpenLedger is one word, not two. That needs to be fixed in the wallet. @ccedk
pps: does that screen update dynamically when new Gateways are added, or do I need to always download the latest wallet?

Technical Support / Unable to sync up
« on: October 10, 2015, 06:40:51 pm »
Running 0.9.2 for some time... On the 8th of this month, I transferred 10K bts from one account in my linux wallet to another account in the same wallet (i have 4 accounts in 1 wallet).

It deducted the 10K bts from the sending account but even after 2 days, and numerous attempts (and clicking that retry link (not sure what it was called)) to get the bts transferred into the receiving account, the bts never showed up there and that transaction seems to have hung up my entire wallet. so now there are 10K bts not showing up in the sending account anymore. :-[

so i figured now would be a good a time as any to upgrade my linux gui client to 0.9.3c. no luck.
it would not import my json file with the hung up 10k.
it would not import a recent json file either (about a month old, obviously missing some transactions).
actually, it seems to import those json files ok, the 4 accounts showed up in the 0.9.3c wallet, but the blockchain sync just hangs there at 13% completion, even with 18 connections.

from my 0.9.2 wallet i did manage to export all 4 private keys.

so, should i...
1. send you the most recent json file and maybe you can fix it for me?
2. just create a new wallet and import the 4 private keys (syntax?) losing all my transactions?
3. extract/paste in a fresh chain folder (anyone have a copy?) then try to import my most recent json file again with the broken 10K transaction in it?

thanx in advance guys :)

General Discussion / Getting bitGOLD and bitSILVER
« on: September 12, 2015, 11:29:23 am »
The internal DEX doesn't work for me at all. I can trade between accounts, but DEX is broke.
Blocktrades does not offer PM, nor does MetaExchange.
Is there someplace else to buy it?
Would someone like to sell?

Technical Support / Creating my first UIA
« on: September 08, 2015, 07:48:51 am »
I need to confirm.. Will this account:
http://bitsharesblocks.com/accounts/account?name=bitshares-munich

..have a "bts-" prefix upon 2.0 launch? ie, would the account name change, or show as this:
bts-bitshares-munich

I created the bitshares-munich account in my linux gui client, and sent 1BTS to it from my kencode account so that it could get registered on the blockchain.

I am going to create my first UIA this week. I need the "Issuer account" to be bitshares-munich for example:
http://bitsharesblocks.com/asset/info?asset=NOTE

No bts- will get stuck on the front of bitshares-munich right?

Technical Support / How do I install a second GUI Wallet in Linux?
« on: September 02, 2015, 01:11:15 pm »
I run Linux Mint latest with all updates and upgrades installed.
I'm pretty new to Linux so I want to make sure I don't screw up my wallet.

I want to create a second TITAN account, but I do not want it to be a child of my bts:kencode account, or tied to it in any way.

I'm worried that if I create the new account in my current wallet, it will screw something up in the /.BitShares folder, and/or tie the new account to my primary kencode account which I do not want.

What's the best way for me to do this?
Please and thank you for your help :)

Job Title:
[HIRING] Convert our jquery Language Selector to React.js. Compensation: 20,000 BTS!
Job status: OPEN

||||||| ♥♥ PLEASE VOTE ♥♥ ||||||| Open Wallet > Advanced > Console > approve delegate.kencode true ||||||| ♥♥ PLEASE VOTE ♥♥ |||||||

Job Description:
This is the React-Language-Selector component that will be used in BitShares POS, BitShares Ticker, websites and other apps we have in development.

Fork from my github master here: https://github.com/kenCode-de/React-Language-Selector

If you visit my website (http://kenCode.de) and click on the German flag, you will notice that it changes the language to German, and back again if you click on the American flag. No page flips.

The new BitShares Munich website (the buggy beta is here: http://bitshares-munich.evennode.com (io.js/koa)) will eventually be in 4 or 5 languages, so please keep this in mind when calling the json files. I need my language selector redone entirely in React, no more jquery.

I love JSON. It makes the creation of new language files much easier.

It would be nice if I could somehow mix an html tag into the json file as well. Right now, the langpack jquery json code I am using requires me to match the json text to the html file text and it never works unless it is a perfect match. I’d like to be able to format the text too. Maybe get the html tags in the json file ignored or something? This is imperative since this new React-Language-Selector must work seamlessly with the new BitShares Ticker too (the scrolling ticker shows the internationalized day/date/time in different languages with the BitAsset pairs/prices). Example ticker is on the buggy beta above.

The jquery langpack I have now uses cookies too, not good. Can we switch to local storage instead?

Your code must be able to ultimately run on my io.js/koa server at evennode above.
I will be MIT licensing this React-Language-Selector for all to use.

Please use the latest version of React:
  • bitshares-munich.evennode.com/js/JSXTransformer-0.13.3.js
  • bitshares-munich.evennode.com/js/react-with-addons-0.13.3.js
  • bitshares-munich.evennode.com/js/react-with-addons-0.13.3.min.js

Upon selection, I will send you 2,000 BTS to get started.

Create a basic (white page) html5 index.html and page2.html so that I can verify your file structure with the css and js folders/files as seen below. Just put some boring english text on the page with a <b>old tag mixed in there somewhere. This is the paragraph that will get translated onClick of the language selector.

Another 3,000 BTS will be sent.

No flags needed, just text, the language selector itself must be a minimalist style drop-down select. On click, it must set my preference in local storage (so it remembers once I reboot) and keep that choice selected now on all pages. English is default, German and Turkish as choices in the menu.

Another 3,000 BTS will be sent.

Your work must ultimately be jquery and jsx free, it must use the min react js file above and please build so that we'll have as few files on my github master as possible. Keep the jsx script in the html files, but comment it out once build is complete.

  • /index.html
  • /page2.html
  • /css/react-language-selector.css (if needed)
  • /css/react-language-selector.min.css (if needed)
  • /js/react-language-selector.js
  • /js/react-language-selector.min.js
  • /js/react-with-addons-0.13.3.min.js
  • /js/languages/de.json
  • /js/languages/tr.json

Once I see React-Language-Selector bug free, styled and functioning properly, I will release another 7,000 BTS.

Once everything is responsive and works across devices and other device tests on your code are clean, we put it on my github master repo above and the balance of 5,000 BTS will be sent.

I think by breaking this job up into milestones like this works for both of us so you are getting paid before, during, and after job completion.

Instructions:
  • Skype me at kenCode_de (any time day or night)
  • I need to see your github and/or examples of your Javascripting.
  • Email me your BTS account TITAN or Public Key: ken@BitShares-Munich.de
  • Milestones above will pay you before, during and after job completion.
=============================
Job Type: One-Time
Job Compensation: 20,000 BTS
Job Category: Software Development
Job Terms: Funds are released from bts:payment.kencode

If this works out, I'd like your help with a few more apps too. The new affiliate program we are setting up is pretty intense and I'd love to hire you for more. Thank you for your help! :)
