General Discussion / Re: Bitshares price discussion
« on: March 28, 2017, 04:02:56 pm »@Thom more importantly I want to stress the lack of marketing. And also that for some reason everyone hates BTS.. Try to say BTS to the moon in Polo troll box twice and you are banned..On the other hand everyone else scream all the time moon for ETH,DASH and everything else they want to promote and no one is banned.. Polo admins hate bts..
Lack of marketing. We need to use part of the pool reserve funds for marketing. Pay Coindesk, coin news, advertise in coinmarketcap, whatever you feel like to show articles to promote bts. We need to remind to people that bts is the first platform for smart contracts, for bitassets pegged, is stable for more than 2 years, it is super fast etc..People need to understand that bts does what the other shit ICOs promisse to do in the future already for the last 2 years..
We need to use part of the pool reserve funds for the buyback of BTS, quickly and greatly increase the marketcap.

General Discussion / Re: more professional price feed?
« on: February 25, 2017, 03:41:13 am »we should develop an exchange service,
for example, we set up a service account: witness-exchange
every witness must accept the offer from account witness-exchange: sell BTS at your feed price*1.02, buy BTS at your feed price/1.02.
so witness-exchange can get the best ask/bid price from all witness's feed price, and serve all users.
you'll never know what's the reasonable price without trade.
I suggest the witness block reward is proportional to the witness‘s sell/buy amount of BTS in the exchange service.

General Discussion / Re: Liquidity, Liquidity, Liquidity
« on: February 15, 2017, 08:39:48 am »hope more USDT liquidity can be provided, in the next month Bitcoin buyers cannot withdraw BTC from China exchanges, it's a good time for BTSers to borrow bitUSD and buy BTC from polo or bfx, however a bridge that connect USDT and bitUSD is needed. There are 5000+ open.USD at 1bitUSD for sell.
I myself need to buy a little big quantity of USDT at 1bitUSD, hope someone can sell...

Technical Support / Re: Where are the collateral positions on the wallet gone?
« on: January 22, 2017, 02:40:03 am »I am always on trading mode.that is not the reason...i am really surprised that no one else has this issue so I can only conclude that you guys only trade with the official wallet and not the open ledger web wallet either you don't trade at all..i hope is the former..I have the same issue, maybe OL is testing or optimizing something...
I am really surprised that openledger web wallet did that and I really dont get why someone would remove this..anyway i hope that when others think that their bts got lost they look at this post and don't freak out.
as @nmywn said..use the official client..except if it is indeed something to do with stealth..maybe super stealth that hides your own collaterals positions and transactions..

General Discussion / Re: Incentivize SmartCoin collateralization
« on: January 22, 2017, 02:24:19 am »Why are users involved in creating smartcoins in the first place? Why shouldn't the blockchain produce them? Does it matter if all the collateral is put up by a user? What if creating a smartcoin was as simple as just buying it from the chain. If I want 50 bitusd I send the equivalent value in BTS to the chain. The blockchain lockes 200% plus the 101% collateral given to it. The 1% is a fee for this instant conversion. Same thing in reverse. I send the blockchain the 50 bitusd, it sends me 99% of the value in BTS and unlocks the other 200% it was holding. The 1% fee can be burned or used as dividend payment to bond holders.
This way shorting can work normally and not involve creating supply. The collateral used doesn't made any smartcoins. It is just used to measure position in terms of the smartcoin being shorted. Trader's can short for what they really want to do which is speculate.
How does blockchain loose tokens? They only exist on the blockchain.
NO. This is just blockchain buying and selling passively, blockchain will lose all the token.
Whales sell BTS to blockchain for bitUSD at high price & sell bitUSD to blockchain for BTS at low price through controling market.

General Discussion / Re: plan for sidechain?
« on: January 21, 2017, 04:13:21 am »@bytemaster has stated a possible solution, in which top 15 witnesses do MULTI-SIG to relevant bitcoin transactions, however "In theory the witnesses could collude to steal all deposited BTC funds."
in my words the "risk" refer to this, I don't know whether there are ways to avoid this kind of risk.
The best way to substantially mitigate this risk is probably to have known entities as witnesses. For starters, below is a list of 10 entities that might participate. And there may be other entities that I'm not thinking of, especially in China. @bitcrab?
The remaining slots could be filled by known entities outside the graphene ecosystem and/or a few of the most prominent, publicly-known witnesses within the ecosystem.
Anyway, I wonder if Dan has secretly been working on a solution behind the scenes. It wouldn't surprise me. Anything announced along these lines would be a pretty big development.
