For the BTS2 network we will revert to only fetching 1 transaction at a time which will limit throughput of the network to under 100 TPS. This will only be a limit in the P2P code which can be upgraded at any time without requiring a hard fork.
If the network is generating anywhere near 100 TPS per second then the network will be earning more than $1M per day in fees and our market cap would be closer to Bitcoins market cap
Think this is important to communicate clearly, as there is a lot of misleading information out there saying 100.000 TPS.
And I guess it is not in our best interest to advertise false numbers.
Sure 100.000 TPS will be possible with new code, but this is the case for every crypto...

Around Christmas I had an idea.
I found out that there are a lot of Online Stock Exchange games around the world.
You register an free account, got a lot of virtual play money to buy stocks.
When you think you are ready for the real world they guide you the real exchange service.
I think this would be a real cool way on how to attract new users to BitShares.
But since the DEX is not ready for Stock and I actually don`t know much about programming at all I think before I erase that idea out of mind and my computer... I post here my very rough idea/concept about BOSEG.
Feel free to ignore or adapt or use this concept for your own purpose.

Mission Statement
Offer a free blockchain based stock market game.
Full BitShares experience for free.
Great Community with real trading experience.
Side Effects
Low entry barrier to real BitAsset trading

Game Rules
Each round lasts for X months.
P2P Transfers are disabled
Each player gets 100.000 BOSEGs (equivalent to $100.000)
All BOSEGxxx Assets will be redeemed at the end of each round. (is this possible?)
- Each player has to accept rules
Asset Rules
Ingame currency: BOSEG
Asset Prefix: BOSEG (e.g. BOSEGOIL)
Selling BOSEG Assets is forbidden (disqualified)
Asset Price is based on a single public source. (E.g. Bloomberg.com, yahoo finance, google etc.)
Game Masters
Manual interaction
Automatically
- set Sell Orders based on real price
- cancel open orders a couple of times per day and open new ones if offset is greater x

500.000 BTS for 100 Stock BOSEG Assets
Mechanism
Asset handling
- Get real $USD stock prices for certain BitAssets into a csv file
- Create/Cancel Market Orders based on the real price
I have to be able to set all needed parameters through a config file.
For example

[BOSEGALLIANZ]
VALUEUSD=Stockprices.csv#DE0008404005
TYPE=ISIN (or SYMBOL oder WKN)
[BOSEGSTXS]
VALUEUSD=Stockprices.csv#A1J09L

Maybe MAKER will bring better incentives so somebody has a good reason to really invest in marketing?Sure, we all are skeptical of something and it`s not the first time that people don`t see demand for a new business...

If $5.3 trillion per day is not enough demand then I don`t know.
I think that a basket currency could be a better choice now. It's easier to sell people who are afraid of financial crisis. If we have a crisis, people want to dump all their stocks. But a basket currency could be marketed as a global crisis-resistant currency.there is no better choice. We need all opportunities.
Stock Derivatives don`t exclude the possibility for basket currencys or indices or whatever.
Each financial instrument got it`s own fans and users.
but "every" new user no matter his likings will help us growing.
Right now we are in the stage short before the crypto-economy goes boom.
But the great market cleansing will come, sooner than you`d expect it.
And every crypto that is not competitive at the given time will fall back quickly and becomes dust in crypto history.
Again the key is growing now, not in 12 months.

« on: January 03, 2016, 06:12:19 pm »This statement from BM was related to the MAKER proposal.We should focus on only one BTS/BITASSET market. Probably CNY or USD. Then we should have market making in the CNY/USD market where the risks are lower.I believe this is the way forward.
Whats wrong with doing both, focusing the MAKER on CNY/USD and start the stock market in parallel.
I don't see why we should focus on only one market in general or do you want to wait until there is a MAKERBOT for each asset available?
If you don`t like to trade stocks you don`t have to, but I don`t see why we should prevent others to try it out.
