This link: https://bitteaser.com/for-investors  explains a lot about the business.
I think they should hire cass because that investor page does look like made by a schooldboy.

will release the block explorer as open-source under MIT license when this worker has been funded in full.
I hope your work will be transparent from the beginning.
Releasing it when it is fully funded is not reasonable.
If you got voted out at half way shareholders must have always access to your work.
You are already using the work, have you been to the cryptofresh site?? This is the problem with people. If you do the work for free, people expect to you keep working for free. If you ask for money, they ignore all the work you have already done.
Maybe you have to clean your glasses because I didn`t wrote nor think anything you seem to believe to read between the lines!

The current performance goal for OBC is to achieve 100,000 transactions per second in a standard production environment of approximately 15 validating nodes running in close proximity.
Quote
The initial OBC release package will offer three consensus implementations for users to select from: 1) No-op (consensus ignored); 2) Classic PBFT; and 3) SIEVE (an enhanced version of classic PBFT).
Quote
Does OBC have native currency?
No. However, if you really need a native currency for your chain network, you can develop your own native currency with chaincode.

This software is made available under the Apache License Version 2.0.

The current german translations says 'WE ACCEPT' but you probably would want to say 'HIER AKZEPTIERT'

so either it's WIR AKZEPTIEREN SMARTCOINS (text first) or SMARTCOINS HIER AKZEPTIERT (text last)

Honestly I don`t think it is worth to translate nor to write anything besides just SMARTCOINS .
Most Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Apple Pay, whatever stickers do not say accepted her.
And if you put the Smartcoins sticker on a door it is very likely that Visa or something is already there.
Those signs implicit that it is related to payment, no need to write it explicit.

just my 2 Smartcoins

I tend to agree so far that we should use our "products" more often and I like to encourage everyone to accept BitWhatever in favour of BTS.
But I don`t see a need to discuss Witness pay atm. If they are not happy with their income they have to step up.
Or if the shareholders are unhappy with the witness pay they will to open a discussion like you did...

I`m looking for a dev that can accomplish at least Level 1 as seen below.
I think you only need basic HTML/JS skills.
Xeroc already laid a wonderful foundation by creating his node-graphene-monitor.
Goal is reached when I am able to show Level 1 transactions on my website.

Level 1
  • Display last X MEMO messages "randomly"
  • Transaction-date not older X day/hour/min/sec
  • Accountname X
  • MEMO length min X max Y characters
  • Transaction-amount min X [Currency]
  • If no Transaction meets criteria display default Banner.png
Code requirement
  • Create a fork of Xeroc`s code https://github.com/xeroc/node-graphene-monitor
  • Plain HTML file that displays MEMO text based on filters above.
  • Only HTML and JS files/code
  • Only a browser is needed (not a local CLI/Client)
  • Only Memo Key and Account Name is needed (no user/pass)
  • All files are in the same root directory
  • Minimum needed files
  • No file is larger than 256KB
  • Code is documented in file
  • Readme howto.md is included
  • Code is open source
  • Optimum would be a single HTML file and one or two JS files.

Level 2
  • Interpreter for Banner image link in MEMO
  • If API source 1 is down try next API source else display default Banner.png

Level 3
  • White/Blacklist of accounts and memo words

Level 5
Create BitShares Ad Provider platform
  • brings advertisers and publisher together
  • filters Ad Campaigns
  • earns a fraction of the fees
I think this is a really low hanging fruit and we could fund many things with payed Ads.
Ads could be embedded in the wallet and on every BitShares blog and so on.
If this works out well services like https://bitteaser.com/ could join our chain or the community can create their own Advertising platform.

If you think you can create Level 1 please post here.

Would it be possible to fetch certain websites that provide almost live data?

For my own excel sheet I`ve just linked to https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/views/all/ and it updates my excel data at will for all cryptos.
Same is possible with bloomberg, investing.com, godmode-trader etc. etc. it just needs to be prepared and parsed.

Sources are unlimited we just need a script or tool to parse the data from certain websites and extract what we need four the feeds.

?

@Slick Willy When are you going to put FMV Token to the chain so we can trade it?
When will you connect your alpha/beta... Voting Software to the chain?

proof of vote

Yes, if you want to describe BitShares you probably need the terms "voting" or "election" and these words suggest democracy.
So what do we actually have? Voting Shares based Consensus - VSC ?

@merivercap
I already avoid trying to name BitShares a DAC (Company) because that`s in my jurisdiction definitely a legal term.
As far as I know Organization is not a legal term per se, at least not in my country.
But yes, everybody is free to use his own favorite term to describe it.
I just don`t like to use DAC (Community) at the moment, but that may change in future...

On Twitter, since 2016 there is only one mention of BitShares in combination with DPOS.
DPOS also wasn`t mentioned in the latest press releases of CCEDk.
So actually it is already abandoned.
I don`t see at all why we should use terms like pow, pos and dpos to describe BitShares.
Those words mean nothing to non-crypto people and we don`t have to put our self in any of those categories for stereotyped thinking.
We are BitShares, BTS, a blockchain based DAO.
That`s it.
