General Discussion / Re: 328,028 BTS Reduction in Supply since 2.0

Makes sense.

We need to take away some of those juicy fees from the exchanges. I really hope we can do that when Blocktrades finally gets their TRADE.BTC deposit integration in the webwallet.

Lets say that among the supporters of BitShares here on these forums we together have 1000 BTC on Poloniex. We could all pull that out of Poloniex and into TRADE.BTC and pay the network the fees instead. That would definitely make us profitable again.

The transfer fee is still 40 BTS I think, they haven't decreased it.

Are you saying the BTS asset page is not showing the correct supply / isnt up to date?

Technical Support / Cant compile light_client
« on: October 24, 2015, 11:52:13 am »
On the head of the bitshares branch of bitshares-2, Ubuntu 15.10:

Code: [Select]
make light_client

/home/me/source/bitshares-2/programs/light_client/Transaction.hpp:37:17: error: ISO C++ forbids declaration of ‘Q_ENUM’ with no type [-fpermissive]
    Q_ENUM(Status);

Does anyone have any ideas on that compile error?

Btw I couldnt find any documentation on building the light wallet anywhere. Its even not listed under in the Applications section in http://docs.bitshares.eu/apps/index.html

I know I can just compile the web wallet and use that as a light wallet, but Im paranoid and would prefer to segregate my private keys away from a general web browser that is used on a million other sites.

General Discussion / Re: How to Lower Transfer Fees Now
« on: October 23, 2015, 07:25:21 pm »
This idea sounds like a nasty trick that feed publishers could use to get their way.

Anyway those people who want the fees lowered are wrong. Its the GUI thats holding us back not the "high" fees.

Check out this progress, we are finally deflationary:

18/10/2015:     2,533,418,358
19/10/2015:     2,533,393,609
20/10/2015:     2,533,385,809
21/10/2015:     2,533,348,217
22/10/2015:     2,533,245,397
23/10/2015:     2,533,228,861

Lets not mess this up!

Is the bond market eta 3 to 6 months?

What is your opinion on adding a trollbox to the webwallet to make it a less boring place for traders to hang out?

146
First priority is to get the feed for the current prices that CMC uses back up, then we'll see. What in particular are you missing @ander?

We want to see a graph of decreasing BTS supply and daily fees earned.

General Discussion / Re: TRADE.BTC and TRADE.LTC are up and running
« on: October 19, 2015, 09:19:07 pm »
After having thought more about these IOUs on the blockchain, Ive realised they are actually really important.

For Market pegged assets to work, we first need price discovery of the real BTC/BTS exchange rate to tell us where the peg should be. So we can either get that from centralized exchanges and let them have all the fees, or we can let the blockchain earn the fees as well as introducing users to our ecosystem.

Core dev team 10 steps ahead as usual.

How can we speed this up?

Promote name squatting (for fees) and allow owners to auction off their names on the blockchain (more fees).

Perhaps the 2.0 block explorer should be accessible to anyone, regardless of whether they have a wallet set up.

The old wallet had a Guest feature. This one insists that you register an account and waste the faucet.

Where can we verify what BTS supply was at the start of 2.0? So that we can show others.

I am not sure, but the first four numbers were 2,533,....

I started keeping a record since yesterday:

18/10/2015:     2,533,418,358
19/10/2015:     2,533,393,609

But what about the paid worker developer positions? Arent we going to revote them in?
